Two main options - studio or on location. 1) Here in my photo studio in the bright yellow Victorian in historic downtown Alameda, we create powerful portraits in this welcoming space. Through the session we'll discover the perfect images for your project + personality. 2) I often do on location sessions throughout Northern and Central California and beyond. Deliverables - whether in the studio or on location, the memorable portraits we make are about exposure and truth, and help your brand and image. The sessions include an online gallery of proofs, and a select few images chosen by you to be fully retouched. Additional full edits, downloads, prints and specialty products are always future options throughout the life of your private online gallery.
If you are a larger brand or organization looking for headshots of your team (up to 150), there is an option below, with the inclusion of a dedicated Digital Technician to join me through the day. If portraits are for a campaign or publication, or outside the SF Bay area, there may be additional rates according to the scope + length of the usage, as well as travel.
The studio is Queer positive, welcomes the BIPOC community, and is fully compiant in Covid-19 precautions, both logically and by the city, county and state. My studio has four large opening windows, a powerful air filter, and sanitization between portraits.

On-location headshot session for an individual within 25 miles of Alameda CA / 94501, usually in a business or a client's residence. Typically a narrow crop from the chest up, and used for branding / social media. Please allow for 30 mins of both set up and breakdown (1 hr total), outside the session time.
An on-location portrait session for an individual, couple, family, or small group within 25 miles of Alameda CA / 94501 ($3/mile after or zero travel fee for PRI clientele), usually in a business or a client's residence, or out and about in the world (session C below). More in the frame from full body to wider environmental images showcasing the surroundings like your shop, home or artist studio. We'll easily be able to showcase multiple areas of your space.
More range, expression and options than a headshot session, with a wide variety of uses for your business or personal needs. Please allow for 30 mins of both set up and breakdown of lighting equipment (1 hr total), outside the session time.
A fast 15 minute on-location portrait session for an individual or small group, usually in a business or a client's residence. This session usually takes place so quick because of a small window of time due to celebrity or age (either end of the clock). Various angles showcase the immediate surroundings like your shop, home or artist studio. It's one of two portrait sessions I offer that includes a photo assistant, insuring ultimate time efficiency (the other is the full day of high volume headshots for brands).
More range, expression and options than a headshot session, with a wide variety of uses for your business or personal needs. Please allow for 30 mins of both set up and breakdown of lighting equipment (1 hr total), outside the session time.
For your team - up to 150 people in a day. Mini headshot sessions lasting longer the less people on your team there are, for a total of up to eight hours of photography with a half hour break at the mid-point. Typically used by colleges and companies (theatre, ballet, etc.) who need a full suite of great headshots with exacting standards.
Includes travel within 50 miles of Alameda CA / 94501, set-up and breakdown of all my professional lighting and backdrop gear, and a full time Digital Technician / Assistant to help make everything run smooth. Additional options of an on-site hair and make-up artist, as well as a clothing stylist are available as extra investments. On location only.
A short + sweet holiday portrait session for an individual, couple, family, or small group (up to 5, yes it's small space) here in the studio at 1242 Park St. STE B. The 15 minute timeline keeps things lively and fun, with the help of your favorite music being dialed in throughout.
Most mini-sessions are used by couples and families, though if you need a simple yet quick headshot with pro lighting + direction, that works too.
All the three session options below include 1) the session with Doug who uses both digital and film gear, industry leading Profoto lighting and both paper and handpainted backdrops 2) all of your viewing proofs on a private, password-protected online gallery which is hidden from public view, and 3) one fully edited image from the proofs, chosen by you, to be personally edited by Doug with fine-tuned adjustments to color, contrast, tone, blemish removal, cropping, light dust + object removal, sharpness and select dodging and burning. Some of the options below include more than one of these with the session, along with online gallery credits, which can be used for additional full image edits, professional prints, or fully framed professional prints.
For more in-depth post processing work, a quote can be provided according to your needs. The rate for this is 75/hr, and typically covers work on hair, object removal or addition (teeth, scars, birthmarks) and reconstruction (wrinkled, ripped or soiled / faded clothes).
